Fell in love with the girl that's on TV

And recently, i've been absolutely hooked on The Calling. I've listened to Adrienne like a gazillion times today and I'm still not bored of it yet! Good songs tend to do that to you huh.

I realised I grew up with a heavy dependence on cable TV. I mean, look at me: I'm 17 years old and my favourite channels are still 32, 33 and 35!

MTV is EVERYONE'S FAVOURITE-ST OF COURSE! Hands down. But stuff has changed a lot too, with Yo Mama! and the likes taking over awesome shows like The Wade Robson Project. But that's okay, as long as they keep playing musiiiikkkk :D

Had dinner at pavarotti today to celebrate rohit's birthday! Week B tmr meaning School starts later! I skipped English today which is huge okay I don't usually skip classes :D

Au revoir!

It's like picking up trash in dresses

So you see, my econs class got cancelled. And so did my media. But that is not the point.

The point, no, MY point is - I have very low self-esteem. Not all the time, of course, but I do tend to crawl under my shell when there is a need to. Or sometimes, it just happens, you know?

I was having a great deal of worries today. I mean, I have all these ambitions and dreams - not small ones too. Stuff like being an awesome journalist and travelling around the world and having my own awesome family in the future. Stuff like that. But I was just thinking - What if I can't make it? What if I can't do it? And even if I can, will I just be another mediocre journalist who chases after famous stars in Hollywood and adds ten extra lines to the one line that my interviewee has actually said?

It's a scary thought. It kinda brings me back to earth where Reality trumps everything else.

But of course, it's also a stupid thought, and we all know stupidity knows no boundary.

And Rendition is a neat piece of work there! A combination of Flight plan + Vantage point (if i may say so myself) but then again, not exactly conforming to those two movies. Instead, it is something totally different. Different points of views, which meant diferent stories at different points of time (which caused quite a confusion to me and Rakhman haha) but in the end it falls neatly into place. Really quite mind-blowingly awesome.

And I never knew Reese Witherspoon was such a good actress, considering the fact that I've not seen many of her movies. Her potrayal of a distraught pregnant wife was great, especially when her performance was so raw and real. Jake Gyllenhal, as CIA rookie Douglas Freeman was okay as compared to the rest of the cast, but maybe that's just because of his character.
However, i think the best actor in this show, was Omar Metwally (potrays Anwar - the lead). "Who is he?" you ask. Honestly, I don't know too until this show! His performance was really (shockingly) good - I could almost feel his pain while he was being tortured. Truly the heart and soul of this movie.

Okay maybe i should start doing some work now! See youuuuuuu

*/Edit

Okay. So I was blog-hopping whilest researching for my PIP topic AND while writing my media essay and I came across this video on Rachel's blog:

It's all so tacky and..and.. NAFF ISNT IT! HAHAHAHAHA Got me laughing like forever!
I seriously don't get the Giant lion that's part of the backdrop, the dresses and the 'Do' and the way they just Have Got to shout into the mic, like they're afraid no one would hear them! But it makes me proud that Ms Singapore back then had at least some kind of quality that Ms Singapores nowadays lack! Ms Marion Nicole Teo who was in the final top ten! THAT, mr friends, is something!

Photobucket

And the best part? The BESTEST part? Debatable. Either

A) Brazil's traditional costume that I thought was a huge banana thingum (It won the best national costume okay!)

OR

B) Ms Coasta Rica: "....(incoherent speaking - to me anyway...I LOVE YOU SINGAPORE" in an expression that would save you from being killed/infected in The Invasion!

How amusing, beauty pageants. But that's another topic for another entry(:

Waiting for my rocket to come

Week 1 is officially, not officially over! Time just flies so quickly, especially in Sydney. I think the older you get (and this is inevitable) the quicker time goes by. It's scary!

Speaking of time, please do go to youtube and check out this Video
It's about this guy, called Noah, who takes a picture of himself every single day for 6 years! That's how many months, weeks, days! It's a pretty long video, so do watch it only if you are free or extremely bored. What's disturbing is the obvious changes, even if it flashes pretty quickly. And the ageing! That, hands down, is the most disturbing. Haha but of course i'm paranoid about growing old, considering my SEVENTEEN LONG existence on Earth.

Also, school's getting boring! (And its only the first week! How am i gna survive!) And there's so much more assignments! I have a media essay to write, and econs hmwk and I just got the notification sheet about my PIP project (FSS) that's 50% of this semester! That's really crazy and I hate the long period of time we're given, cause that means I will have absolutely no sense of urgency at all! None. Zero. Zilch.

Yeah i'm ranting cause that's what I do best, no? Also, for my PIP project I was thinking about some topics that I could do. And Shelley was talking about the Amish people and the Mormons in America and that reminded me of this documentary I watched on Discovery Channel about the Jonestown people!

(Read only if you dare. Not for the faint-hearted)

The Jonestown people are basically part of a cult led by Jim Jones There was apparently a mass suicide then, including a congressman. Prior to that, in case of emergencies, Jones would conduct "White Nights" where Jonestown members were given four choices. One of it was Revolutionary Suicide, and on at least two counts, this was being chosen. The real thing eventually took place, of course, and the Jonestown people were killed with Valium, Chloral hydrate and presumably cyanide. These were prepared with Grape Flavouring, which is kinda ironic if you ask me.

Photobucket

The metal vat used to make the...concoction, if you like.

Jim Jones, himself, sir.

Crazy stuff hey! But that's of course, not the first and last mass revolutionary suicide in history.

Losing your memory

This totally just sent chills down my spine. Even RStar himself praised this dude. Awesome stuff.

Oh. Reckon they'd move Singfest to Sydney? :D

Watch me fly

Officer Cadet (OCT) Clifton Lam Jia Hao

SINGAPORE: An airforce regular serviceman died in hospital, one-and-a-half hours after he collapsed while he was undergoing jungle orientation training in Brunei on Wednesday.

20-year-old Officer Cadet (OCT) Clifton Lam Jia Hao, a pilot trainee with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), had apparently collapsed during the final leg of the training.

Together with five course mates, OCT Clifton had set off on a 4-kilometre trek in the forest at 8.45am.

They were in camouflage gear and equipped with rifles, dry ration and water.

At 5.45pm - just a few hundred metres away from the finish point - OCT Clifton collapsed.

One of his team members tried to resuscitate him. A medic and doctor also rushed over from the checkpoint to give immediate first aid.

Channel NewsAsia understands this included cooling him down for heat exhaustion.

Later, at about 6.30pm, OCT Clifton was evacuated by helicopter to Ripas Hospital, about 10 minutes away.

En route to the hospital, the medical personnel onboard the helicopter continued to attend to him.

Lam was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7.20pm.

The area where the officers were training in is known to have uneven ground, dense forest, tall trees and canopy so thick that those on the ground would not be able to see the sky when they look up. The weather condition during the incident was reported to be hot and humid.

OCT Clifton was a hospitality student from the Temasek Polytechnic. Condolences started to pour in on his social networking website. His friends and former schoolmates said Clifton will be dearly missed. They remember him as a caring friend and a great teammate. One even called him a brother.

Clifton's two former lecturers from Temasek Polytechnic, Grace Chia and Ivy Tan, also remember him fondly. They said "Clifton was a cheerful boy who never failed to brighten the class with his humour and was well liked by his peers. A dedicated boy who took pride in whatever he did."

Clifton's body is still in Brunei and is expected to be brought back to Singapore soon. Channel NewsAsia understands his family is now in Brunei.

Investigations are underway and it is not known if OCT Clifton had any prior medical conditions.

OCT Clifton was certified PES A, the highest fitness status in the SAF. He was given a clean bill of health during his Fitness for Instruction assessment on 14 May. This assessment is required before officers take on the jungle training course.

I didn't read about this in the news, because i was still in Sydney then, and when I got back to Singapore, this news was already cruelly covered by other more 'important' news, other deaths, other happenings.

I recently got the link of the deceased's girlfriend's blog. I've been reading it, and my tear ducts have been acting on their own accord, tearing but not fully giving in to crying. Just like yesterday, when I caught Windstruck again with tuvshin and cherie, emotions did not succumb to weakness.

It's so horrible, to lose someone. Someone so near and dear to you. Someone you've loved, no you love so much, someone you'd willingly give your life for. But he's gone now, and that makes me wonder if he actually took your place?

Sure, this and the death of another NS man still in BMTC (in one week) has, once again, created a huge media fuss, allowing the public to open up and voice their opinions. Loudly. Of course, this is inevitable as Singapore is usually so restricted. How many cover-ups have there been? How many deaths have been written off after appearing on the headlines once, twice?

I read the comments on the forum and think to myself - how harsh Singaporeans are. How cruel. Sure, they may not be ill-intentioned. I'm sure they aren't evil incarnated. But this happens. Always: Find the solution! What was the problem? Is the training too hard? Or are Singaporean boys just getting weaker? Is there some scientific reason behind it? Was he obese?....

So many questions, but how many answers are there to these countless questions?

The deceased girlfriend shares with us some insight of her life on her blog. It's heartbreaking to 'see' her talk about the past. But the sadness i feel for her is probably nothing as compared to the pain she's feeling. The constant reminders of him being gone...even the nitty-gritty ones.

But it cheers me up immensely to see that she still has people who care about her. People around her who share her pain and who try to take that load off her. It's not possible of course, but it's always nice to know someone cares.

So kudos to Singaporeans anyway - for the tags on her tagboard; Even the harmless-yet-cruel people, who only mean well, that places the system above Clifton's death and talks about it rather then offer their condolences. Good on you Singapore for handling such an issue well, for trying to find a solution even if it generates a lot of spite comments and creates such a controversy.

Creed

The pleasures of ending school half an hour early is mainly to get your ass back to your room, which is on the fourth floor of the school building, and change your blogskin to something that's nicer than your previous one.

This skin so fly, aint it?

Hahaha okay that was a lousy attempt to get my street creds up but hey at least i tried. It's almost 4pm now, that's 2 hours to dinner and homework after dinner.

It's been insanely cold the last few days! Cold = nice cuppa hot chocolate. That's exactly what i'm having now.

Photobucket

Also, i've caught Sweeney Todd on monday in the TV room with the usuals which was really quite fantastic! I won't go into no deep details cause you guys are probably sick of me harping on about Depp. But still, i gta say "Good on you Johnny!"

we ALSO caught Batman: The Dark Knight. Let's just say that it's definitely not a letdown!
Heath Ledger, especially, was Fan-Tas-Stick! Mesmerising, stole batman's thunder in this movie, which was what made the film good! He should totally deserve the posthumous Academy Award for his role as the Joker. Very demented and crazy and a total schizophrenic. Unlike Harvey Dent, the Joker evokes no sympathy and feels no sympathy too. He isn't interested in power, or money, or whatever terrorists these days want - He simply wants things to go boom.

Photobucket
Why so Serious, son?

Photobucket

The make up for Heath Ledger, which was made up of three seperate silicon pieces or something and tonnes of powder, lipstick and mascara, helped him get into character, and also helped us focus not on the Joker's character, and not what would eventually happen to him.

But my favourite part was when the Joker dressed up in a white nurse's uniform, with a surgical mask and a ginger wig! I laughed to no end, especially when he walked out of the hospital with the hospital blowing up behind him, like a conductor finishing up his piece, the orchestra's finale.

Misery Business

"When you drop a glass or plate to the ground, it makes a loud crashing sound. When a window shatters, a table leg breaks, or a picture falls off the wall, it makes a noise. But as for your heart, when that breaks, it's completely silent. You would think as it's so important it would make the loudest noise in the whole world or even have some sort of ceremonious sound. But it's silent and you wish there was a noise to distract you from the pain."

Will be back. And i've finally gotten back my results! Satisfied with everything but english.Spoilerxzxzxz

Awesome Possum

It's amazing.

It's amazing how far I can go in just a matter of hours. Barely a day ago I was still in Singapore, stiffling in the super warm, humid temperature. Now? Now I'm freezing up in my room.

It's really amazing huh.

Well, I'm back in Sydney and it's just so fun to see the rest! Everyone's got their hair cut or changed their hairstyle but we all know that's not gonna last long! Haha

I'm quite happy to be back. But I'm just awed by the fact that yesterday I was thousands of miles away and today, I'm here. Amazing what technology can do huh.

So school starts tomorrow. I'm hoping it'll be fun, if not great. And I have not gotten back my results yet, among people like Anson!

9pm screening: Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

HAHA seems like we're picking up where we left off!

My hopes got so high

Disappointment is a sucky feeling. It's one of the worst feelings ever.

Anyway, this morning I got woken up by my mum/brother/dad (in chronological order) and then my brother drove us to Whompoa for breakfast.
I didn't eat much because I'm determined to lose some weight, but that's not the point. The point is having a brother who is able to drive! It's awesome really, because I know have one extra chauffeur apart from my dad. However, there's still only one car and because my brother's still under Probation, my dad doesn't allow him to drive alone.

Anyway, after breakfast we went to St Luke's Elderly Care to pick up my aunt and uncle who were volunteering their, erm, services there. Then, we went to Bukit Batok to see my other aunt (dad's eldest sister) and my cousin and her 5-month old baby whom i haven't seen till today!

Left again and then went to Jurong Point where we had lunch which was super filling (I know! What happened to my Lose-Weight Regime!?) and walked around for abit. Then we detoured to my grandmum's place to visit her for awhile before sending my aunt and uncle home.

THEN we went to Bedok to cut hair! It was a very very very bad experience! My hair's pretty crappish now and I really don't care if the hairdresser was having her period, or a bad day, or she was just plain tired! She had absolutely no right to treat my hair like crap. AND SHE EVEN CALLED ME AN ITE STUDENT!
I'm sorry but do I honestly look like I'm from ITE? Very insulting! (No offence to ITE students)
I wanted to scream in her face HELLO I IS FROM SYDNEY ONE OKAY! I GOING SYDNEY UNI OKAY! DON'T PRAY PRAY! Sheesh!

Anyway I'm never going back to that secluded hair salon even though the rest of my family thinks its pretty alright.

Went down to TM and shopped a little blah blah blah I'm home now, disappointed for some reason and I've packed my stuff, though it's still incomplete!

A long day that started off okay but ended...yeah, you get it you're not imbeciles.

Well I'm drained now. So goodbye.

If everyone cared, nobody lied.

Let's take a road trip.

I just read an article online that Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy's; 27 Dresses) recently pissed off the producer of Grey's Anatomy - the infamous Shonda Rhimes, and writers of that fabulous show, if i may say so myself!

Apparently, the emmy-award winning character of Isobel 'Izzie' Stevens, whom i'm sure, all Grey's fans share a love-hate-love relationship with (including me, duh) was not enough for Heigl, who claimed that she was not "given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination." (Jeff Thomas, Mercury News Wire Services)

Hence, in their own way of spreading the 'louurrveee' to Heigl/Stevens, Stevens will apparently umm, obtain, or come down with a brain tumour, and may even die in the next season! (Which is pretty stoic, considering Izzie's role in the show) Of course, what's a dying Izzie without her already dead fiance who left his wife-to-be millions of dollars? Thus, Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) also returns - in Izzie's mind of course, disguised as a symptom of her brain tumour. McDreamy, i say, McDreamy! (Sorry, that was impulsive)

That would probably be super interesting, but it got me wondering, if that happens, then are they THAT desperate?

I recently got myself hooked, again I have to admit, on Grey's Anatomy. Only, this time, season 4.

I thought that Season4 would be good, if not better than season 3. Firstly, the absence of Burke and Addison brought an overall, very lost feeling to the show. Strangely empty, really.

Next, George not being part of the year 2 Residents. It's a good twist, but again, it's weird cause it's supposed to be the 5 of them, no? 007 really ended up 007.

Sheesh. I think Derrick and Meredith should move on already! Bring new people in. Maybe bring Finn the hot vet back.
And George and Izzie? There's obviously something wrong with them. They won't last two seasons (or 1, I have not finished season 4) because they lack the chemistry for, well, *ahem* pleasure (In this case, I mean sex, no duh!) since this show is totally scandalous anyway!
Christina! Whatever happened to her dark and twisted side? The sarcasm?

Season 1: Fabulous.
Season 2: Absolutely amazing. One of the best finales ever
Season 3: skip
Season 4: Disappointing! (So far)

But we Grey's Anatomy idiots still keep tuning in each week, holding on to our scrubs that we got from our smartass family and friends working in the medical industry, our eyes glued to the TV, blown away by the amount of blood and gore and painful scenarios they manage to come up with.

Seriously?
Seriously!

Music.

This clarity? It goes away, I know.
But in this moment, with the pressure of your fingertips on my hips
With our hands intertwined
When the world stops and everything's what it seems
There are no stains, no imperfection.

This clarity? It goes away, I know.
But in that fraction of a second
The world's coated in sugar and coloured in pastels.
With the sun, moon and stars
In our palms with just the stretch of our hands
This moment seems to last a lifetime

And now everything is blurred and foggy
A mist that transcends all goodwill and love
But what is clarity - The rainbow lies and the sweet deceit
Or the torturous truth of what this moment brings?
This clarity, it goes away, I know.

Would it be okay, if you took my breath away?

You took my breath away
Now I want it back again
Look at the mess i'm in
I don't know what to say.
I don't know how to feel
You don't care anyway
All I can do is wait
You took my breath away.

You took this song of mine
And changed the little bit
It used to sound alright
But now the words don't fit.
It's getting hard to rhyme
Impossible to play
I've tried it many times
You took my breath away.

One day when the sun is shining
There will be that silver lining.

You knocked my headlights out
So turn them on again
I can't see where I'm going
I can't tell where I've been.
I don't know how to feel
This hasn't been my day
Seems like I've lost a wheel
You took my breath away.

You took my breath away
You took my breath away
You took my breath away.

It's investiture later, but i'm obviously not going. And the above song lyrics is by The Traveling Wilburys which i thought was pretty interesting.

Anyway, soppy love romance movies are probably pornography to girls in the same way pornography is to guys. My very crude disgustingly open guy friends all talk about pornography as the best invention they could ever had, which to me, is extremely wrong! But then I realised what do we girls have that is equal to their obsession with porn? (Okay fine. Not all the guys I know are like that.)

KOREAN DRAMAS, OF COURSE.
Or maybe just bumming at coffeebean or TCC with a bunch of girlfriends, gossiping to our hearts content
Or maybe getting a full body massage, or a pedicure/manicure
Or maybe, just being able to shop shop shop all day!

Haha! Sorry, a blog of a friend of mine's just released all these words out of me.

And I have not packed, not done anything productive. Maybe today will be the day i start getting ready to leave!

Maybe not.

!!!!

It feels like time is running out!

No wait, it is running out ):

I have an increasingly dislike for sydney. I know, i know, it's my own personal choice to go and get myself screwed overseas (no pun intended!!)

So what got me started, you ask?
Elementary, my dear watson.

SINGFEST! It doesn't even matter that i missed singfest07' because i'm not that big on the bands that were performing BUT SINGFEST 2008!

This is so crazy. I think the 300$ is totally worth it! THIS. IS. SO. UNFAIR.

To make matters worse, NOT ONLY IS JASON MRAZ PERFORMING, BUT TRAVIS (scottish accents */melts) AND LOST PROPHETS AND PANIC!AT THE DISCO AND JAMIE SCOTT AND STACIE ORRICO AND ALICIA KEYS AND MUCH MUCH MORE!! (PCD, New Found Glory and the likes..though i'd happily trade panic! for FOB at anytime)

It's absolutely maddening. I am mad.

Let's see -
I missed the Switchfoot concert which took place on the day i left! (!!!) It was apparently awesommmeeeee which sucks.
I missed the Incubus concert which was ALSO awesome!
I missed the Maroon 5 concert which, no doubt, was great! Adam levine :D
I'm missing Singfest08'
I'm missing the deathcab concert!

Joykiller.

I realised I haven't been blogging much. Which means this website is getting wasted.

Well, kinda.

I don't know if you guys are the kind that actually read blogs on a regular basis - And I'm not talking about your friends' blogs. I'm referring to Blogs that are written by people whose sole occupation is Blogging.

These people obviously love writing. Having decided to save time on the traditional ink and paper method, they move on to New Media and decide to blog online - where there is, of course, almost practically no censorship and - as they say: "Freedom of the press". They earn moolah through advertorials and also through their own personality that shines through their writing. It doesn't even matter if they spew vulgarities or make insensitive comments on rival bloggers or taxi drivers. The press loves them. Mainly because the press WILL have a field day if certain comments are made by the Blogger. Duh, the more scandalous it is, the better, no?

Okay fine. Cut short the crap - But I've (OF COURSE) been reading Xiaxue's blog (http://www.xiaxue.blogspot.com)

I admit, I'm a regular visitor to her blog. I visit her blog once every two days, if not everyday, hoping that she'll have a lengthy, entertaining post for her readers LIKE ME! Honestly, I do not think very highly of her, but I think she writes pretty damn well! Not to mention, she likes the Harry Potter series too! - But that is not the point lah.

Anyway I don't know much about other professional (or so they claim. I don't think all this bitching about is very professional but my opinion does not matter) (Also it's apparent that wanbao creates most of the fuss and since my chinese is...deteriorating...) bloggers but through Xiaxue I've come to know about Dawn (http://www.xanga.com/clapbangkiss) who I must say, cannot compare to Xiaxue in terms of constructing a neat sentence that packs a punch. However, I don't know much about her and I'm determined not to judge.

Well, what I really want to ask is - Who do you think rightly deserves the title of a Blogger? Or to be more specific, a Professional Blogger?

Well, I'll say neither. But I am prejudiced because I think journalists and poets and authors are still ranked above bloggers in the media hierarchy. This will one day change, no doubt, but so far local bloggers (I don't know about other bloggers in other countries) are not professional enough!

How did they become professional bloggers? By their looks of course! Honestly i think their writing takes second place because I know a lot of people who can write just as well as them, but who are not as popular! After taking the job as a Blogger, their writing will definitely get promoted because whatever they type into blogger and xanga and livejournal will determine if people want to even approach them to do advertorials!

But I'm still looking for someone who earns money through advertorials (I don't think this is much of an issue - even newspapers earn most of their income through ads) by blogging about issues which are important. Or at least lesser bitching and more informative stuff. Opinions and comments are a must because its a blog and if you're going to take pictures, AT LEAST TAKE NICER ONES! Being professional means investing in a good camera and taking proper pictures - Who knows, you may get a much wider audience, including photographers. You may even earn more money if people want to buy your photos! (But that's kind of far-fetched)

But my point today is: Why are there no (ugly) professional bloggers who write about issues close to their hearts and not rely on their (photoshopped)(fake) pictures to get noticed but rely on their writing instead!

So you see, I'm in a total mood to blog now - Nevermind that i'm changing the topic very quickly and awkwardly :D

I've barely a week left in Singapore before I fly off to Sydney to study for the next twenty weeks! I've realised I do not like Sydney that much now after living there for twenty weeks. I'm not sure why either! I think I only fully realised it at the end and after I came back. Well I seriously have to make a decision on where I want to do my university because if I'm going to stay in Sydney for the next what, 4-5 years, then i better love it!

But we'll see. Meanwhile, I'm going to trust God and pray about it!

Also, many things have been happening!

Germaine had a small gathering on a yacht and we sailed frm Sentosa to St Johns Island and Kuso Island where we anchored and had dinner! Played taboo with chubby, germs, mitchell, pook and charis! The food and wine was good, the scenery was good and at night there were loads of stars! I want to be filthy filthy rich next time and own a yacht! I don't need a huge one - just a medium size one where I could have a few friends on board and we'll have dinner and wine and just talk, anchored in the middle of nowhere, under the starlit sky, with no light pollution or any other kind of pollution for that matter! It'll be sooooo cool! Hahaha but that's a Very very very distant dream now, unless I marry a filthy rich husband and become filthy rich because of that! :D

And on friday night, a whole bunch of us stayed over at Fairmont Hotel! Germs, charis, me, huimin, sheng, pook, mitchell, seto and paul. Haha played taboo (what else huh!) and wii! It was absolutely crazy.

On Saturday night, the same group of people, minus charis plus other churchmates had dinner at Raffles Hotel's Bar and Billiard Place! The food was crazily good! So much for wanting to lose weight (AND TAN!!!) when I come back! For now, my plans have been postponed to Sydney where I swear I'll not eat hahahaha

And today! Youth service in the morning and then we all broke up for classes. My class decided to go to Potong's Macs where we had late breakfast and then we basically, umm, updated each other! Haha yeah it was awesome talking to them and for the second week in a row, our lessons have been revolving around Lesbians and Gays -.-

And at around 6, I met up with the loved ones at chomps! We whacked chomps good and we whacked chomps well :D Hee hee Had the usual kangkong and hor kien mee and satay and chicken wings and stingray! Oh, not to forget, the ginormous cups of sugarcane! Haha had dessert at Ice(cube) which is not very far from chomps. I won't say the dessert is amazing but at least it's pretty alright. I love the ambience though. Or maybe i just love the company(:

Managed to catch up with alyssa and juiwei and we're probably meeting again on thurs! I'll miss them the most i think, apart from my family because we're all very frank with each other. Not to mention super high! Haha

Well, I'm going to stop now and see if i can watch grey's anatomy and upload pictures too!

Let Go.

"It's recently occured to me I might not even have a problem. Only, I'll never know it because as far back as I can remember I've been medicated."

*/Edit

I just finished watching Edward Scissorhands!

I must say, it's such a creepily amazing show!
There is, of course, Dear Old Johnny Depp who, obviously, outdid himself again in potraying a very eccentric character. This time, he successfully brings out the fullest sense of the word "Disembodied." He brings out that..that..Vulnerability that Edward has - Like a Child, lost in a new place He has never seen before!

Tim Burton is excellent. Egg-see-lent!
Edward Scissorhand is like a fairytale, for the lack of a better word. But this fairytale is thrown in the context of a Stereotypical view of an All-American Suburbs in the past. The houses painted in pastels, the green and pink and orange - A very colourful neighbourhood in general, is thrown in stark contrast with the Mansion, where Edward (Depp) is first discovered by Avon (Dianne Wiest) Avon then brings Edward back to her home to stay and Edward finds it difficult to fit in in the world of 'normal human beings', with all their greed and gossip and lack of insensitivity.
But with his new found friends, Avon; Bill (Alan Arkin) - who acts like a father figure; Kevin (Robert Oliveri) - obnoxious and Bill and Avon's son; and Kim (Winona Ryder) - who is Edward's love interest - And who falls in love with Edward too, progressively, Edward comes to learn about Joy and Anger and Sadness and Fear. And Love.

I absolutely rate it FIVE out of five stars!

Omogosh he's so hot i wanna make cookies on him!

HAHA Today i went out with young and cherie. Got tickets for Hancock at The Grand Cathay before walking around at PS. Oh met kathleen and Rakhman! Hahaha for the time that we were standing around, talking, was like we were in sydney! Haha anyway i'll be seeing them tmr :D

Photobucket

So, Hancock was awesome! Stellar cast, i must say.

It's basically a comedy about an incredibly un-superhero-ish superhero, John Hancock. Hancock (Will Smith! :D ) is an alcoholic who is extremely sarcastic and who needs some anger management lessons. Well, Unlike Superman and all other superheroes, he is firstly, Very recognised by the public, and secondly, he is Hated by the public - which is really quite something seeing that all the other superhero movies/comics are the total opposite.

Hancock's powers are, i think, very similar to Superman's. Like the strength and the fact that he is inpenetratable - like how bullets bounce off him and all. So Hancock saves Ray (Jason Bateman) who has a hot wife, Mary (Charlize Theron!) and Ray, a PR officer or some sort, try to change Hancock's image.

Hancock is very funny and heartwarming. Something we can relate to of course.

Okay watching wimbledon now!
And pictures!

Movie Week

This morning my parents kicked me out of bed. Not literally, of course. Imagine it literally. It'll be cool stuff. May be painful. Haha

WELL anyway we had breakfast with my uncle and then we drove down to Serangoon. Followed the erm, procession? To AMK where the cremation took place. This is really my 2nd immediate relative passing away. I mean, i've been to many funerals of course, but apart frm one, the rest were all people whom i had no immediate connection to. So the first funeral that i attended is my mum's eldest brother. I was too young to have any feelings then and I can't even remember all of it - just bits and pieces. But he really doted on me. Always buying me milo and pao (Haha. See I grew up on those sort of things)

Well, my uncle was like that too. I remember when i was younger, in primary school, and my parents would be working early in the morning and my brother would be in school and i'd be stuck home alone with no food no nothing. Well, my parents would drop me off at my aunt's and uncle's place early in the morning and they'll cook lunch for me. And my uncle would always give me drinks. I mean, it's not much, but still.

Oh well He's gone at 68. Which to me is EXTREMELY young. Just yesterday my dad told me that the best age to die is at 70. I'm like WHATTTTT! 70's wayyyyy young! I mean, look, people usually retire at 60 - 62 right? And if you die at 70, that means you have 8 years to live! That's very sad! I wna live to a ripe old age! MINUS the sickness and all of course. Hahahahahaha

Okay i HAD a lot to blog about but my !-ing conversation with paul is getting me exhausted! And not to mention affected! Hahaha am also chatting with young and others online and it seems so dull as compared! Okay! Enough with the exclamation marks already! OH I had tau huay today! At geylang! Hahaha!

Anyway, I am 100% Singlish now. CONFIRM LOR. HAHAHA SEE!

Okay imma go watch greys anatomy (Again. I knowwww i never get bored)
Meeting young and cherie tmr!
