Choux Pastry Heart

My fingers have been flying over the keyboard for the past 3 hours - for the wrong reasons. How much can one do on the internet anyway?!?!

I gave french tut a miss today but only for a very good reason. It was pouring and we didn't have an umbrella. So we decided to just walk in the rain all the way to Mackie but as soon as G got out to the front steps...

She fell.

No, more than that. She literally rolled down the steps.

For some sadistic reason, it was super funny and we laughed about it for like, ever. I'm sure it must have hurt though but just typing this out is reminding me of the whole body-disappearing-uggs-appearing act. It was scary and shocking. But like I said - hilariously HILARIOUS.

Can't believe it HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The heart and the mind doesn't agree

Sometimes the heart gets too much control.

Hi all! (I can say this because I know people read this thing now; Read: HELLO STACEY STEVEN NATHAN REYNOLD ROSAMUND BESTF etcetcetc)

For obvious reasons (Time: 245am) I'll just go straight to the point and do this thing. It's not easy knowing there's an audience to care about.

:D

I got a 65% for my first GOVT essay. Just nudged into a credit there. Not entirely pleased about it but Thank God cos I was incredibly confused at the incredibly complicated way instructions were given. Plus, I got above average - which was 62%.

Anyways. I was just writing in the Blue Book and decided to share this revelation I had today. Epiphany all.

So the message at Powerhouse was really good. Struck a chord. Made me want to sit down for a bit and think. It was especially challenging, but really something worth thinking about.

It was only in the last part of the service when I realised I'd been taking a certain verse in the wrong way. No wonder I ain't digesting.

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".

It's all out there. Not very complicating. Very encouraging. God declaring something should be something we better pay attention to!

Thus, I've been using this verse alot - up to the point where it's embedded in my head and I fish for it everytime I'm praying over something difficult (usually exams). Care is sometimes taken to include the words "HOPE" and "FUTURE".

These 2 words just pushes me forward every single time I'm in a place of doubt, closer to a place where I've talked myself into worrying less. It gives me faith that things will turn out alright.

But today, I realised that "HOPE" and "FUTURE" doesn't neccessarily mean good seasons all year round!

In fact, these two words should be taken very literally. Meaning:

HOPE = JESUS

FUTURE = HEAVEN AND ETERNAL LIFE

Easy peasy. I'm ashamed to admit I thought of it as me doing good all the time.

But that's assuming. And SELF-SUFFICIENT.

So many times, because of self-sufficiency, we find ourselves kicked out of the Promise Land. And then doubt creeps like a thief in the night and sets in.

Plus, our God is kooky. He likes to step in at the very last-minute and blow our minds away with the sacred term 'Divine intervention'.

When our HEARTS seems to be losing the battle - THRUST it to GOD. When we have had our hearts broken, torn apart, stabbed and left to bleed itself dry - there's nothing we can do but give that battered heart to Jesus.
For sure He'll heal it. Recovery isn't difficult. It's the giving up of our hearts that is. We care too much and worry too much about it's condition and state.

Similarly, our MINDS go through the same battle. Thoughts of ' What ifs ' and ' Could be's ' - us trying to understand and fanthom what seems ridiculous. But hey, we're not meant to understand everything. If the brain got any smaller, we still wouldn't be able to comprehend it all, hey?

Maybe (just maybe)(hehe) we can all save the trouble and trust God all the time!

COMPLETE AND TOTAL DEPENDENCE.

That way, everyday will be divine intervention. Imagine that. God stepping in and taking control of your life while you take the back seat. It's like being driven around in the best car imaginable and cruising the highways of life without a hoot or care in the world but mad love for the driver. Awesome stuff.

Singaporean Terrorist Jailed

JAKARTA (Indonesia) - A SOUTH-EAST Asian terrorist who admitted to meeting Osama bin Laden many times was sentenced to 18 years in jail on Tuesday for killing an Indonesian teacher and plotting an attack on a bar frequented by non-Muslims.

Mohammad Hasan bin Saynudin, a 36-year-old Singaporean, was defiant as he was led into the South Jakarta District Court, saying he was proud of his actions and ready for whatever punishment was handed down.

Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation, has been hit by a string of terrorist attacks in recent years blamed on South-East Asian militant network Jemaah Islamiyah - formerly funded by al-Qaeda.

More than 240 people have been killed, many of them foreign tourists.

Saynudin - arrested with nine other Islamic militants and a cache of weapons on Sumatra island in July 2008 - admitted to many crimes during his trial, including helping mastermind a foiled plot to hijack a Russian Aeroflot plane and crash it into the terminal at Singapore's international airport in 2001.

However, the case that wrapped up on Tuesday focused only on crimes committed in Indonesia.

Judge Haswandi said Saynudin was guilty of orchestrating the fatal shooting of a teacher in front of the man's 9-year-old son in 2007 and trying to kill two Catholic priests in 2005.

He was also found guilty of planning an attack on a bar on Sumatra that was called off at the last minute - apparently after the men realized it might unintentionally kill Muslims.

Saynudin violated the country's anti-terrorism laws and possession of illegal weapons, Haswandi said, in handing down the sentence.

The Singaporean told reporters he considered himself a 'Muslim hero.' 'I met Osama bin Laden countless times,' he said, calling the al-Qaeda chief 'the savior of the Muslim world.' -- AP
Woah. Singapore's so happening.
Or rather, Singaporeans are so happening. First Mas Selamat - now this.

You came along, and you cut me loose

Welcome Camp was really cool. Made so many new friends and got so many mosquito bites it's not even funny.

More importantly, we all met with God. For two days straight i've just been sitting still and enjoying the presence of God. We don't even talk - me and Jesus. It's just so peaceful to be sitting there with Him - the occasional word or two.

The Holy Spirit is so powerful. I learnt how important it is to lead a spirit-filled life. And today's sermon just backed it up 100% God's prompting: Be Filled With The Spirit.

It's awesome. Why am I not worried about my upcoming assessments? Because God Will Provide. It's not even a COULD provide or a MIGHT provide. It's a PROMISE. It's a WILL provide!
It doesn't mean I can slack off though. It just means i shouldn't sit around FRETTING. I just need to get it done - not by My power, but by His. So hard, but yet the fruits of such labour is sweet.

It's awesome. Jesus is one sick dude. Sick being Good (on God's terms - meaning indescibably Awesome and Fantastic).

I Love Life, Life Loves Me.

FOR TO ME, TO LIVE IS CHRIST, AND TO DIE IS GAIN.
Philippians 2:21

The list is long.

I've officially fallen sick - not that there needs to be anything official about it. Thanks to walking in the rain to French tut and then shivering in class for 2 hours straight.

The week's over!! There's Welcome Camp from friday through Sunday afternoon and Germsy isn't going! But I'm gonna go and get distracted from assignments anyway.

There's a french test Tuesday and I'm absolutely CLUELESS about - well, EVERYTHING! GOVT Assignment due week 9. Whoosh. Landslide. Guess I'm just gonna wing it. Must trust in God too. How well will I fare in THE CLUTCH?

Hopefully, well enough!
Imagine the life of a journalist - long hours, underpaid. Deadlines deadlines deadlines. Say, "Cheap Thrills" please. Might as well fly a kite.

Just blabbering nonsense now. Got my fresher revue shirt which isn't fantastic lor. Not worth my 25buckz. I can buy tonnes of stuff with that ka-chingg! Plussss revue's just next week! They're determined to goon us - literally- before our goon dance. Whoopee.

Okay must start doing all that writing! Stephen Glass Satire Politics Iraq War National interest Words wrods wrdoz.

I know you can feel it, You're already there

It's a long day. But After Tuesday ends, I'm always looking forward to Thurs.

Oh yes. Fresher Revue is next week. Just want to get it over and done with. The dancesteps are absolutely disgusting. If my mum sees it she'll disown me. No joke man.

Life is going fine. Me wants to do nothing. ANZAC Day isn't even a holiday. Beh. I'm so boring.

Six Degree of Seperation

I am so not ready to get back to University! One week holiday is just not enough. Absolutely looking forward to June hols baby! Singapore here I come! :D

The past week seems so busy. But I was just talking to Velda today and I realised that I haven't been doing a lot! (apart frm Mraz & the Easter Show). We've just been hanging out Way Too Much. It's quite scary. Even my mum says I don't have any other friends.

And seeing that I'm still stuck on holiday-mode, it's so hard to sink back into a students' lifestyle.

But see, today I met this dude from Chicago. His name is Laforce (I'm presuming it's spelt like that)(How else to spell it?) and after we had CLEMS which was am-ma-ma-zinnggggg, he whipped out his macbook and guess what was his desktop picture?

Him

and

Michelle Obama.

Oh Yes, you got me right the first time round. Michelle OBAMA. With her own private jet in the background and some random.

HOW INSANELY COOL IS THAT??!?!?!?!?

I made a friend who is on FIRST NAME TERMS WITH BARACK OBAMA'S WIFE! THEY'RE MATES!!

Which means I am just one connection away from the man himself - history maker all!

But of course, you guys don't lose out. You're two seperations away. Sweet deal huh!

Hahaha it's sick isn't it! Laforce even sat in the motorcade and chilled with Secret Service Agents. (He worked on the campaign)

Dream: SIT IN AIR FORCE ONE, ONE DAY!

Reality: First year student stuck in Sydney struggling through piles and piles of shitty assignments and exams.

BEHHHHHHHHH.

I live my life on a heavy rotation

IF YOU WANNA ROCK YOU ROCK, IF YOU WANNA ROLL YOU ROLL :D

This is going to be a lengthy, wordy post. PICTURES ON FB!!!!!:D

Okay so,

Firstly,

JASON MRAZ WAS SOOOO AWESOME!

And When I say Jason Mraz, i meant The Dude Himself. The concert was Alright - meaning mediocre. But Mraz literally blew my mind away. I almost threw my undies at him like Nathan said. I should have bought the disposable pack and written my name with love scribbles and threw the whole pack at his hat. WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT EARLIER HUH HUH HUH!

Well, I Am completely 100% dead serious.

Anyway, the day started out with me waking up with ASSIGNMENTS on my mind. I thought that the 20th was on Tuesday, but realised that i had to hand in two assignments on MONDAY. So I quite literally jumped out of bed and rushed to the computer to get a headstart, however minor it might be! Nathan texted me to meet for lunch at Thai La-Ong, and Steven and KL joined us. We continued talking for quite awhile before I went back to change.

Met Phae at Central before looking for bus 339 that takes us to Hordern Pavilion. THE WHOLE WAY I WAS JUST SMILING LIKE AN IDIOT. We didn't know how to get there and were soooo worried we were taking the wrong bus, or would alight at the wrong stop. After chasing Mraz for almost 2 years now, we didn't want to be at the wrong side of Sydney Right!!
I kept singing: "I'll find a way to you if it kills me, if it kills me" !!!!!! SUPER STALKERISH PLEASE!!!

Hahaha met up with Shawn and we rather up front in the line. Asians EVERYWHERE! Met up with a whole bunch of Singaporeans, and guess who i saw!?
STEPHI!!!!

So coincidental! :D

Anyway, after an hour plus of QUEUING, we finally managed to SQUEEZE our way in. What next?
MERCHANDISE!
Bought two tshirts that were WAY overpriced but hey! What the heck!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Anyway, guest stars were LISA MITCHELL

Photobucket

and ERIC HUTCHINSON

Photobucket

THEY ARE BOTH SO AWESOME! Seriously when I have the internet i'm gonna torrent them! Talented people!!

Well, the WORST thing about the concert was the WAITING. After lisa mitchell, we had to wait for a longgg time before Eric Hutchinson came on. And then we had to wait even longer for MRAZ to appear!

During those intervals, I

a) had Booze spilled on me
b) Was blocked by three very massive, very tall australians
c) had a fellow usyd singaporean student almost faint on me
d) saw this really young aussie teen faint! She was Right In Front of me and her siblings didn't even notice!!!! She was sooo young! Like, I was right smack behind her and she suddenly turned and i could see she was blacking out.
e) Halfway through the concert another girl fainted!
f) ALSO SAW JIAYI! AND ELEANOR AND YUMIN! So eggciting!

It was so stuffy and people kept pushing. Figures, seeing it was free standing tickets. We were at a pretty good spot at the end though, after navigating past the tallies.

Well, Jason Mraz came on AND WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY?

He sounds SOOOOO FREAKING GOOD LIVE! He's such an interactive and entertaining performer. Plus, HE IS INSANELY HOT!!!!! The way he sang and danced and moved just made me melttttttt!!! GAHHH IM TOTALLY RELIEVING THE MOMENT NOW!!!!! :D :D :D

Photobucket

Superband was way too cool for half the people i know also! Everything was just PERFECT.

Except the crowd.

One of the first song he played off We sing, We Dance, We Steal Things was the Dynamo of Volition! I looked around me hoping for some crazy fans who could memorise that song! I was Sincerely expecting TONNES OF THEM!

But alas, almost no one knew it.

D:

In fact, the only time the crowd went wild was during I'm Yours.

Ever the purist, I was heartbroken. It just didn't feel right. Some people didn't even seem to enjoy it.

But I guess it didn't matter, because It felt so RIGHT just listening to Mraz sing live. To SEE him perform and be one with the music. It was SO INCLUSIVE. He is SO SO SO AWESOME!!!!!

Photobucket

But I had goosebumps when I'm yours came on, which is ironic because that song is way overrated. All the one-hit wonder fans! Grrrrr! Haha!
And I had goosebumps too when Butterfly came on. And Live High. And Make it mine. AND AIYA EVERYTHING LAH!!

AND AND AND HE MENTIONED SINGAPORE WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was bummed he didn't sing The Remedy though! That would take things to a HNL!

Why do I have this feeling you'll be hearing much more about Mraz from now on? Oh, me and my panty-throwing urges HAHA :D

***

Today,

THE ROYAL EASTER SHOW!

Last year, I went with the gang from Taylors. This year, I went with Phae, Alan, Steven, SE & Lulu!

IT WAS SO FUN!!!!!

We met at central and took a train down to the Olympic Park. We were so hyper and pumped up from the start! But of course, right! With people like ALAN around! He should totally join star search! He acts SO WELL! :D

Anyway we started off taking crazy pictures and having so much fun! The weather was perfect! Sunny but not scorching! Had candy floss and corndogs. Watched the pigs race and went to the patting zoo. Saw motorbike stunts and took way too many pictures! Saw fireworks and went on Crazy cool rides!

More importantly,

We bought Light Sabers.

One for five dollars. Made in China.

I SWEAR IT IS THE COOLEST THING EVERRRRRR!

LIKE HELLO WE WERE ALL BATTLING AND BEING ALL STAR WARS LIKE! SO MUCH FUN! :D :D :D

We were even playing with it in the city where we had dinner. Hahaha I really thank GOD for placing such AMAZING friends in my life! They just cheer me up so much!

And now I'm gonna upload pictures on FB! CHECK THEM OUT OKAY! ESPECIALLY THE LIGHT SABER ONES!!!!!

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack

I am procrastinating. Falling back to old ways.

I only just realised that I have two assignments due on the 20th of April. That's not that far away. I still feel like I'm living in March though.

There's just too much research to do and knowing me, I'm gonna put it off until the weekends or something.

And I know I haven't been blogging much. No one really comes to my blog anymore, anyway.
Plus, I've just been out soooo much!

I had an Amazing weekend with the Hillsong churchies! I don't even really remember where we went specifically but I do remember alot of food and travel10s being involved. Gahhhhhhh. Oh, not to mention dessert and a heck lot of icecream! And All. That. Laughter!

Well, as you all should know by now, I cut my hair. I have bangs. I wish I had a picture of me when I was 5 years old so you guys can do a comparison. I swear there's not much of a difference!

Because I'm boring, I'm gonna describe this marvellous haircutting experience. We were in the city on saturday night and decided to head home early to get some rest (for once). While waiting for the bus, Nathan asked me and Germaine what we were gonna do back at Womens. After putting it off for a long time, Germs and I were planning to get my hair cut. Upon hearing that Germs was gonna snip off some good ol' hair off my head, Nathan wanted to join in! Haha!

So after rinsing my hair, we realised that we didn't have a comb!! We were at his place and he lives with two other guys - you might've thought that at least ONE of them has one! But anyway, Nathan kinda went into panick mode Haha Super Hilarious. But of course, TRUST germs to come up with a genius plan:

USE A FORK.

to comb my hair.

And that's what we did.

Nathan was especially happy about it and even brought out two of them metal things. Fork away!

But the haircut's good so far, if not for the hole at the back of my head, and the uneven ends.
It really isn't as bad as it sounds though :D

And according to everyone else I look like a middle school korean student/my mum/a kid (delete where applicable). However, I do get a shock looking into the mirror and seeing hair plastered on my forehead sometimes. Guess that's just another thing to adapt to.

Right. Enough about my ever so exciting life. I'm gonna try and start on my assignments.

Cause you are lightning striking xoxo

I Got This In An Email.

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

This is God. Today I will be handling all of your problems for you. I do not need your help. So, have a nice day. I love you.

P.S. And, remember... If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME. All situations will be resolved, but in my time, not yours.

So challenging, is it not? To have to surrender ALL to God? It's not easy. Human beings simply worry to much. We have a need to have control of our lives to a certain extent.

But recently, I've been learning to throw it ALL to God. I'm just giving it up. Total And Complete Surrendering.

And guess what?
It feels soooooo good.

The email continues...

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for which driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone badly; think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what my purpose is? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember; things could be worse. You could be one of them!

J'ai une message pour vous.

CHRISTIANS ARE UPSIDE DOWN PEOPLE

The Distractions are Countless

Honestly, they are.

The internet is one of them. Sleep is enticing - fighting for top spot on THE list. And then there's daydreaming and Reading.

For the past few days I haven't been doing my readings, or starting on my assignments, or doing anything remotely related to school!

Instead, I've been out all the time! On friday we hung out at Steven's and played taboo and did all sorts of crazy things. KLo lent me this book that's proving to be really good! As good as everyone says it is! But I'm barely up to the 6th chapter so we shall see how it goes.

On saturday, Germs and I met up with Gabriel at QVB and had lunch at Yama. It's on the 3rd floor and is a jap cafe with expensive, but good, food. Especially like how quaint and detached it is from the city! Anyway, we got back to the S&A centre to cheer Steven and KL on! Hahaha when we stepped in, we were hit by the smell of sweat - at full blast. The stale stench of perspiration was enough to finish me off.
Oh, but I did get a can of 100plus!!!! In fact, Woolies are now selling 100plus! Finally! Australia is progressing! :D

We had dinner at Sinma - a malaysian cafe down at Kingsford with 2 other guys we met at the competition - Wayne and Michael? (And1!!) (HAHA) The food was pretty good and I bet you it's gna be a much visited place from now on. Make that every friday. (: We went back to uni and sat around and talked and laughed ALOT and did all sorts of stupid things. Thank God for this bunch of people. They're absolutely amazing <3

Hokay. Must study now. Or maybe i'll sleep. I have fresher revue rehearsal later on - wait, soon - which explains why I'm not in for 5pm service. We went for 11am though and the message was fantastic!!
OH We're gna volunteer for kids ministry too! No, it's not entirely KLo's influence! Haha!

Chimos xoxo

HAHAHA SPOOF!!!!

Not today, or tomorrow

I woke up late this morning because my room was so nice and cold and it was so cosy just snuggling under the blanket! I made it to class on time though - seeing that I live right on campus it should be near impossible to be late.

Anyway, the funny thing was after washing up, I noticed that the blinds were moving, presumably because of the strong winds outside.

BUT THEN - I close my windows every night - So how can the blinds be moving!?!?!

Shocked, I decided to pull up the blinds - something I never do so I depend on lights or live in darkness most of the time - and to my HORROR - My window was OPEN, and the mosquito netting thingy was gone!

I was pretty much HALF-awake at this time, plus I was very flustered, so it took a moment for it to sink in. Not believing my own eyes, I actually tried to feel for the netting! BUT IT WASN'T THERE!!!

DID SOMEONE RIP OF MY PROTECTION AGAINST BUGS ON THE OUTSIDE (WORLD)!!! AND WHY WAS MY WINDOW OPEN!!!!

I know it sounds incredulous to say that someone opened my window. But isn't it more incredulous to say that the wind blew the netting away? AND lifted open my window?!?

I don't know if I should be freaked out. Well, I guess I am since it's blog-worthy.

Disclaimer: My window is like the old kinds. Where you have to lift it up, not slide it open. Yes, Australia isn't as advanced and hip as Singapore. That's what I keep telling them.
Also, just outside my window are the air conditionings etcetc. The old kinds too. Who knows - someone might have climbed onto the shaft-like thingamajics and opened my windows.
Yucks.

Anyway, I have locked both windows now so it should be alright! Nothing seems to be missing - I actually haven't been too bothered to look =/

Plusplusplus! I handed in my WP assignment today so I can finally BREATHE. BUT I still have more tests and assignments coming up so I must start working harder.

And I want to go to Canada (Toronto uni/ Uni of Ottowa) next year for exchange programme! Soo exciting!!! First choice was FRANCE but I'm OBVIOUSLY not proficient enough to be taught in a language I hardly know! Second choice - Boston, but only Business students can go! Unfair!!

I also looked at Manchester uni, University of Helsinki and a few others in the states!
But so far Canada looks most promising because a) Courses are taught in English and b) Canadians speak french! And so I still get to brush up on my French!

D'accord! Must study! Au Revoir!
