Well, the Simpsons have become hugely popular ever since the movie that was aired this year

I came across a few well known facts, and a few unknown facts.

Okay i heard this on tv quite some time back, but the names (homer, marge, lisa, maggie MINUS bart) are all names from the creator's family members. Only, he substituted his own name(matt groening) for bart's.

The simpsons has 19 seasons, and its around 20-22 years old!
The first appearances of the simpson's very retarded family, is, well (google it) extremely ugly and crude.

Yeardley Smith is the only voice actor who regularly voices for One character (lisa)

Homer is retarded. That we all know. But then watch a few episodes and he actaully claims that his father(who can fall asleep in like 2 seconds haha) wasnt a great father and so.

Plus, when homer was young, he used to be a red/brown-head.
and since marge has blue hair that stands up high(is it dyed?), i can't imagine where the 3 kids got their yellow hair colour from

Despite homer being potrayed as a 'bad' father, he loves his kids. yep. specifically shown in season who knows what when he gave up his aircon savings to buy lisa her first saxaphone (i remember because i just watched it)
okay this is amusing. Homer's EXTREMELY overused catchphrase : 'D'OH!' (reminds me of pao) is actually included in the Oxford English Dictionary

Homer was raised on a farm by his parents, and fell in love with marge when he was in high school or something.
He steals very frequently, especially from their neighbours (he's obviously jealous of them) but they seem to give in alot.

He ALSO has a low IQ (DUH) due to his hereditary "Simpson Gene," his alcohol problem, exposure to radioactive waste, repetitive cranial trauma, and a crayon lodged in the frontal lobe of his brain.
Homer's intelligence was said to jump fifty points when he had the crayon removed, bringing him to an IQ of 105, slightly above that of an average person, however he had the crayon reinserted, presumably lowering his IQ back to its original 55.
The amount of Homer's brain which still functions is also questionable.
At one point in the series, Homer apparently lost 5% of his brain after a coma

And.
He speaks penguin.

Marge Simpsons is like, the only one in the family who wants to go to church regularly
And then *drumroll* the truth!
Marge is does NOT have natural blue hair! it is in fact, gray.
Plus, she used to wear is normally, down. but since her prom, she decided to 'keep the look' and ever since then, you get the famous beehive hair dyed blue

Bart Simpsons - one of the highlights. He's known to be mischievious, and rude and stuff like that but (again i just watched it) on his very first day of school, he was actually looking forward to it
And that it was because he clapped 3 times while singing a song and signs of being just a little slower than made him feel like an outcast
while still fresh in school, a friend commented that he was funny, and he used that to his advantage. Ever since, you get the new and no-so-improved bart.
He addresses homer by his name, and not 'dad' unlike lisa, and is the only kid that get strangled by homer (Ha Ha Ha)
the sibling rivalry between him and lisa is super obvious but he knows that lisa is smarter, and he also apologises to her on a few occasions

Lisa the smartypants.
She gets her saxaphone from her parents (homer) when she is being spotted as extremly talented even at the age of 3. Because of the lack of cash to put her in a gifted school, homer buys her a saxaphone.
Yet, she's also rebellious at times and will go all out to express her believe and opinions.
She's buddhist and has been obviously neglected by her parents at a very very young age because they were more preoccupied by her 2-years-older-than-her brother. (she changed her own diapers, fixed a puzzle in principal skinner's office at the age of 3 and when he asked her what 5-2 was she could answer immediately, something homer could not do)
and her latest relationship is with colin (i think,from the movie)

Last of all, Maggie
She's the only one in the family who can't talk, and sucks on her pacifier all day long
Everyone loves her, even homer and bart
also, she is smart, and is an expert marksman apparently.
As a baby, she imitates alot that's going on around her, and is often seen Trying to walking, but tripping over herself and falling smack down on the ground.
She played a tune on lisa's saxaphone once, and even played Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker on her toy xylophone

At age one, Maggie could spell EMCSQU (E=MC²) with her toy building blocks, whereas Lisa at age three could merely spell "STAR" and "RATS" with hers (yep really. just watched it)

So Maggie's probably the real genius, except for the fact that she can't speak.
